The Naugatuck Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1959 and dedicated to preserving and sharing the borough’s history. Its mission is to keep the stories of Naugatuck alive and accessible to the public through exhibits, research, and presentations, with a vision of a community inspired by history and able to see how Naugatuck’s past informs the present. The Society stewards the Naugatuck History Museum at the Tuttle House on Church Street, where it mounts rotating exhibits, hosts educational programming, and maintains archival collections. The museum is open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with research access available by appointment.
