About
The Connecticut Accordion Association (CAA) is a statewide nonprofit founded in 2004 by Marilyn O’Neil and accordion teacher Mary Tokarski. It is an affiliate of the American Accordionists’ Association and is dedicated to promoting the accordion across all music genres and all variations of the instrument, welcoming musicians who play piano accordion, diatonic, chromatic button, and more, alongside listeners who simply love the sound.
The CAA’s goals are to promote public interest in the accordion through public awareness, hold concerts and events throughout Connecticut, provide referrals for instruction and services, and network with accordion associations nationwide. Its orchestra, led by conductor Peter Peluso, regularly performs a diverse program ranging from theater pieces to jazz at venues including the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury and the Pequot Library in Southport.
The organization is headquartered in Cheshire and supports its programming through memberships and donations.
