Recycled Reflections

July 20 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Free

Contemporary sculpture artist Faustin Adeniran is offering Recycled Reflections, a collage program at the Woodbury Library. What you create will be from materials that would otherwise be thrown away.

Faustin Adeniran is from Lagos, Nigeria and creates in New Haven, Connecticut. For the past ten years, his work has been to re-imagine materials that would otherwise be considered trash or recyclable. Faustin, an Arts for Learning CT teaching artist, will lead a collage program for students entering grades 6 – 12. In this workshop the group will discuss the values that are important to each person’s community and what makes their communities unique. From there, they will create works that reflect that discussion.

Participants are asked to bring materials to use: recycled materials like old newspapers, cardboard, cards, plastic bags, etc., and small but meaningful materials (photos, quotes, other small trinkets) that can either be used to inspire a work or be incorporated into one.
