Portrait Painting in Acrylics

This class is for students who have either taken the “ drawing in preparation for painting class” or who have already drawn a portrait on a canvas and is ready to paint. This class is for all levels . Students may bring their own materials from suggested supply list or pay additional fee for materials supplied by the studio. Using a photograph of their own, students will learn:

Mixing acrylic paint flesh tones correctly using a limited palette
Technique to get started
Tips for shading to create form and reflective color of the skin.
Painting realistic eyes, noses and lips
Tips for Painting hair
Capturing a realistic likeness
Acrylic colors
Burnt umber
Burnt sienna
Cadmium yellow
Alizarin crimson
Cadmium red
Ultra marine blue
Thalo green
Ivory black
Titanium white
Matte medium
Portrait already drawn on 11×14 or larger acrylic primed linen canvas or canvas panel
