“Pandemic Portraiture: Reflections of Healing”

An excellent gift for Museums, Historical Societies, local Libraries, Schools, Book clubs etc!

“Pandemic Portraiture: Reflections of Healing” addresses our pandemic condition and how a small group of Connecticut youth artists reflect and share what they have experienced to be healing during that time in our history.

“Pandemic Portraiture: Reflections of Healing” is a CT FY22 grant-supported program taught by portraitist ShawnaLee Waterbury-Kwashnak to a select group of Connecticut youth artists who created portraits inspired by their witness of healing during the pandemic. The project culminated in a virtual art show and this book, which captures experiences during the midst of turmoil and will be of interest for historians for generations to come. It includes a section for readers to record their own reflections of healing.

This program was produced with the support of the Department of Economic and Community Development, Office of the Arts, which also receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

“Pandemic Portraiture: Reflections of Healing” includes drawings and paintings that capture glimpses into the craziness we experienced during the Covid-19 Pandemic.  A great read for elementary school children through adults!  “Pandemic Portraiture: Reflections of Healing” is an excellent choice for reading and engaging classrooms or small groups with engaging conversation.  There are some pages in the book that invite readers  to jot down their experiences.

“Pandemic Portraiture: Reflections of Healing” is the perfect book for anyone who loves art and discovering healing!  Make the gift more special by including an archival pen for recording pandemic experiences!   Art supplies for the inspired artist are a must!  If you need art supply recommendations, message me your email!
