Event Series Event Series (See All)

Hollywood producer and Grammy-nominated drummer Richard Baratta and his all-star quintet present this special concert Music from the Movies.
Richard Baratta was born into a musical family in Poughkeepsie, NY where he started his music journey on saxophone and soon switched to drums. After college he began studying with Jack Dejohnette before beginning his movie production career in the mid ’80s. He has been a producer and executive producer for films such as Joker, The Irishman, five Spiderman movies, one Indiana Jones, The Wolf of Wall Street, and Big among others.

Now years later, he’s returned to jazz with some of the best side men in the business. Richard will be joined by saxophonist Vincent Herring, pianist Bill O’Connell, bassist Michael Goetz, and percussionist Paul Rossman in a program that includes iconic ballads like the Burt Bacharach-Hal David smash hit “Alfie” from the 1966 film of the same name, and “Pure Imagination” from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory by British composers Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, as well as hard-swinging and Latin-tinged sambas from your favorite films.
