I Wrote That! Author Talk: Susan Katz

Susan A. Katz is an internationally recognized poet, author, and teacher.
“I am a poet. I have been a poet, poetry reader, poetry lover, since the age of six when my father introduced me to poetry by reading me Mandalay by Rudyard Kipling. I felt then, as I feel now, a sense of power and purpose in poetry. It is the place I go to find myself.” Katz’s most recent poetry collections published by Austin Macauley Publishers include The Limits of Light (2021), Dreaming Missouri (2022) and On the Edge (2023).

Susan has taught poetry to students, teachers, poetry lovers, and those aspiring to be poets, for over forty years, for Poets in Public Service and independently. She has co-authored two textbooks, with music specialist, Judith A. Thomas, exploring creative ways to integrate the arts into school curriculum. “Poetry is the place I go to ask my questions and poetry is the place, where I have found my answers.”
