HOME COMPOSTING
January 19 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
$5.00Naugatuck Garden Club is featuring a Zoom program presented by Monique Bosch of the Northeast Organic Farming Association of CT. Let’s join Monique Bosch as she shares her passion for composting, whether it be thermophilic, static pile, or composting with worms. We’ll also take a close-up look at compost under the microscope, and learn about the ‘soil food web’ in compost that can be used to bring our own gardens back to life. Other regenerative ag principles will be described and adapted for the home garden. Monique has built over 40 school and community gardens and farms around the northeast, including a 2-acre urban farm in Bridgeport, CT. She currently works as the Soil Health Lead for CT NOFA. In addition, she teaches ‘how to grow your own food’ and runs a worm composting business with her son. She also studied ‘The Soil Food Web’ under Dr. Elaine Ingham, and teaches microscopy and soil health to farmers and organizations.
Pre-registration is required at mccabegerry765@gmail.com. A suggested donation of $5 should be made out to the Naugatuck Garden Club, and mailed to PO Box 672, Naugatuck CT 06770. Please log in to Zoom site no later than 6:45 PM to ensure admission to the 7PM meeting.
