Holidaze Tour

December 17, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

$5

Take a break from hustle and bustle of the holiday season to join the Palace Theater on Sunday, December 17th at 2 PM for a festive, holiday-themed tour of the historic Palace Theater. When Sylvester Poli built the Palace more than 100 years ago, he wanted to create a place for the people of Waterbury to gather and escape the pressures and difficulties of everyday life. What better way to pay tribute to Poli’s vision than strolling through history in the beautifully decorated venue as a respite from holiday stress?

The tour is 90 minutes and led by a team of volunteer ambassadors well-versed in the theater’s history, architectural design, and lore. Guests can relax with a toasty hot cocoa or delicious sangria (for the grownups!) and explore various areas of the theater, including the stage, dressing rooms, and the venue’s backstage murals. The ambassadors are seasoned storytellers who love to tell the story of the Palace Theater. While parents enjoy the tour, Palace Theater volunteers will be supervising a special kids’ area with holiday movies, activities, and visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Tours are $5 per person and reservations are required. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to New Opportunities, Inc. and enjoy free admission. Visit palacetheaterct.org/your-visit/tours call the Box Office at 203.346.2000 to book reservations.

The walking tour covers three floors. Elevator access is available for guests with mobility challenges or other health concerns. Attendees who would like accommodation are asked to mention this when purchasing their tickets.
