CURRENT EVENTS with Dr. Hunt: Around the World in 8 Days

Americans are often not well informed about countries that influence our foreign policy primarily because of the paucity of media coverage. These lectures/discussions will focus each week on a different country, briefly outlining its history and culture to increase our understanding of the context of geopolitics. In these sessions, we will consider Russia, China, Japan, India, Turkey, Iran, South Africa, and Cuba.

The series is for adults who are looking to engage in lively conversations about newsworthy issues. Politics, pop culture, and foreign affairs are all up for discussion in a friendly and open-minded environment. Each participant should be opened-minded and willing to learn and listen and will come away with myriad perspectives to consider as well as a better understanding of the world we live in. Handouts and at-home reading will be provided.
