It’s time to Find Your Voice and share your talent! Join us for Coffeehouse – Summer Vibes 2: Find Your Voice, our second open mic night.
Our Coffeehouses are intended to be inclusive events that forge connections between musicians, singers, poets, comedians, storytellers and an enthusiastic audience. Our goal is to foster creativity and build a community where participants have an opportunity to try out new material in a supportive and open environment. Share your gift with the community! Each performer will have a chance to take the stage in our intimate Poli Club for 5–7 minutes and share their unique talents with the crowd. You’ll never know what kind of amazing performances you’ll see at our Coffeehouse nights, from soulful ballads to expressive poetry readings. Whether you’re an aspiring artist looking for a chance to shine or a music lover wanting to support local talent, our open mic night is not to be missed.
The evening is hosted by spoken-word writer, Fiona de Merell. Fiona is the Director of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UConn Waterbury. Her professional background is in education, project management, and community outreach. She has an undergraduate degree in Classics, and a Master’s degree in Adult Learning. She has organized spoken-word events and shared her work at events throughout western Connecticut.
