Beginning Jewelry Classes

January 30 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Event Series Event Series (See All)
$350

8 Mondays …… Jan. 30 – March 20
Days …… 10am – 1pm
Evenings …… 6:30pm – 9:30pm
Note – see open studio time for additional time to work on your projects
Beginning classes are just that – classes for people who may have never
touched a tool before or those who have had some experience in jewelry making and would like to further their knowledge in a fully equipped studio under the guidance of an experienced teacher.
In these classes you will learn how to use the tools and techniques needed to fashion various types of jewelry including (but not limited to), rings, necklaces, bracelets, pendants, chains and more. You will learn the use of a jeweler’s saw (the most basic tool in jewelry making) and how to cut metal into any shape
you want. You will learn how to add texture to your metal and then use
various methods to put those pieces of metal together to form a finished
piece of jewelry. You will learn how to add gemstones to a piece of jewelry
and how to incorporate just about any other sort of object or material with
the pieces you make.
Your jewelry can be made of copper, sterling silver, brass, titanium, or any combination of these. Each individual work station has its own set of tools and there is a full complement of larger metal working tools available for all to use. There will be a large selection of gemstones available as well as other materials to incorporate in your jewelry. Most materials and gemstones are included in the price of the class with sterling silver and titanium available at an additional cost.

Registration for either 8 day-sessions or 8 evening-sessions is $350 payable before the class begins. Missed classes are the responsibility of the student to arrange make-up time during studio time (Wednesdays – day or evening) and there is no partial refund for missed classes. Partial refund ($200) is available up to one week before the beginning of class.
