Author Event ~ A celebration of World War II Heroes!

The 19th Annual Author Event, sponsored by the Cheshire Performing & Fine Arts Committee, will be held at The Manor Inn, Route 322 in Milldale, CT. Two exciting guest authors will be featured this year, Alena Dillon and Lisa Franco sharing a joint theme of celebrating the heroes of World War II.
Tickets are $45 and available at https://artsplacefriends.org Besides the author’s talks, the price includes a light supper. There will be a cash bar. Seating is first come, first served. Groups of 8 may reserve a table in advance.
Alena Dillon will discuss her newest novel Eyes Turned Skyward. Available October 18, this dual time-line novel is about a daughter discovering her mother’s past as a female pilot during World War II and the consequences of women’s contributions remaining unrecognized. Alena will sign book plates for those wishing to pre-order this novel at the Author Event. Copies of her other books will be available for purchase at the event.
Cheshire resident and author Lisa Franco, former writer/producer for WTNH 8 in New Haven, will discuss My Dearest Darling. Lisa Franco stumbled upon the couple’s lost love letters in an antique shop ten years ago, uncovering the story of Naval officer Donald Storey. This soldier was not just fighting for his country in World War II—Donald was fighting to come home to his love, Margery. This military couple’s struggle during their WWII separation becomes a road map of their destiny. Buy Lisa’s book in advance or at the event.
