Acrylic Painting on Aluminum Workshop

Aluminum is a perfect surface to paint acrylics on and have luminous effects. Since the aluminum does not absorb the colors like regular cotton canvas – the colors are more vibrant and true. Small flecks of the metal can show through adding even more excitement to the final painting.

Students will learn to use a limited palette and will also gain insight into how to capture light and shadow in their work … the excitement of light adds tremendously to a painting…learning to make greens will also give you greater harmony in your work – avoiding the “light green/dark green ” 2 shades that can make paintings look flat…instead you will learn how to vary the shades and create much more depth.

In this six-week class, students will learn to prep and prime their aluminum, work with a limited palette and transform a mundane image into an exciting painting.
